TRUCK TOUCH was a resounding success thanks to the many, many, many volunteers who made it possible. Thank you to the many SNS parents who coordinated baked goods, trucks and volunteers. Thank you to the many community members who brought their trucks. Thank you to the many volunteers who posted flyers and told all of their friends and neighbors. Thank you to all of you who donated your ovens and your time and your many talents! I can't wait for next year! August 2009 Check out pictures of our garden! Order Here Now Read This-- (And join the Club) The Suburban Nursery School Book Club, that is. Our book club was formed in 1999 and is still going strong -- but we would welcome some new faces and new opinions and new book suggestions. The group has both current and "alumnae" SNS parents as well as teachers. We meet once a month - more or less - at 8 p.m. at Bethesda's Barnes & Noble Cafe (but if you want to have us over and put on a delicious spread we'll be happy to oblige!). We generally read fiction, generally American writers, but we are open to anything. We try to choose books that are available at the libraries as well as at local book stores. Basically, we have no rules and no requirements except a love of reading and a desire to talk about what we read. Call Fran Warthen or Ellen Harter at school (301) 229-1465 if you are interested in joining or if you'd like to be added to the book club's email list for book information and meeting dates. |
