Suburban Nursery School

APPLICATION PROCESS

Please Note: Cooperative preschools are not for everyone. Cooperative preschools, including Suburban, require heavy parent involvement. At Suburban, it not only means participating in your child's classroom, it means cleaning your child's classroom. In addition to daily end-of-the day sweeping, vacuuming and bathroom cleaning, there are four in-depth clean-up nights during the year. Each family is expected to participate in two. Every family is required to either serve on the board or on a committee. In addition, participation in the life of the school is expected. The more involved you as a parent are, the more your child will reap from his or her preschool experience. Please see the co-oping agreement for more information. Visit our co-oping page to see comments from current and former parents.

Dear Prospective Family,

Thank you for your interest in our 2, 3, and 4-year-old programs at Suburban Nursery School. For your convenience, an online application form and co-oping agreement have been provided in Adobe Acrobat Reader format. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader, a link has been provided at the bottom of this page to download this free software.

We encourage all interested families to participate in our Open House in October. Please check back for specific dates and times. You will have the opportunity to meet our teachers and view our wonderful facility as well as speak with current families. Please note that we recognize Maryland State Department of Education guidelines of children being the appropriate age by the first of September.

At Suburban Nursery School, we give priority when filling our classes to alumni, returning students and siblings. Returning family, sibling and alumni applications are due by the date of the Open House. For all remaining spots for the fall of the following year, we begin logging emails to our membership chairpersons at 12 Noon on May 15. This email expresses your interest in the school and puts you onto our list in the order in which your email was received. To maintain your position on the list, a completed application and co-oping agreement form, along with a $55.00 non-refundable application fee made out to Suburban Nursery School must be received by the date of the Open House. We encourage you to bring your completed application, co-oping agreement form and application fee to the Open House, or you may mail it to the following address:
