THE SUBURBAN NURSERY SCHOOL HABITAT GARDEN The National Wildlife Foundation has designated our SNS garden as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We are very proud of and excited about our garden. Each of the four classes has a quadrant that they plant and maintain throughout the year. The children love weeding, they love getting their hands dirty and planting, and they love picking and eating the bountiful produce for snack. Wildlife watching is thrilling for the children. The birdfeeders attract numerous species of birds, the butterflies are abundant in the summer and fall, and there are all sorts of creepy-crawlies to discover under the leaves. We produce tomatoes, herbs, pumpkins, watermelons, peas, and lovely flowering perennials, annuals and bulbs. Please come visit! The garden changes every year and with every season. The garden is fully maintained by the children, teachers and parents of Suburban Nursery School and is an important part of our curriculum. The brick pathway was laid in 2009 and contains personalized bricks purchased by teachers and parents and supporters of the school. Bricks can still be added! See Brick Order Form for more information.
